One people

The book of Genesis is literally a book of beginnings. In Genesis 11, we read about the construction of the Tower of Babel. The events of this chapter brought about the origin of different languages. But the Tower of Babel episode introduces more than just the beginning of language. It also introduces the beginning of community and, as a result, has something to teach the church about being one people.
