faith plus self-control
The third thing Peter said we must add to our faith is self-control. The Greek term translated self-control is defined as “power or lordship…over oneself or over something.” It connotes the idea of mastering something so that it is brought under your subjection. In this lesson, we’ll consider why adding self-control is not optional or personal. Additionally, we’ll look at what the Bible says it entails.
