One example of religious jargon that does not typically appear in everyday conversation is the word “baptism.” This term might be familiar to most, but it is often misunderstood or misapplied across Christianity. The verb “baptize,” in all of its forms, appears 77 times over the course of 64 verses, and the noun “baptism” appears 19 times in 19 verses throughout the New Testament. In this lesson, we will study this term to uncover its association with salvation.
