In Galatians 6:2, we are instructed to “Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” This isn’t a suggestion; it’s a command. The overarching purpose of this command is for one disciple to help another disciple overcome whatever interferes with his or her spiritual progress. Thus bearing one another’s burdens is a call for brothers and sisters in Christ to be accountable to one another.

Galatians 6:1-2 (ESV)

Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
