The Bible says there is at least one enemy we’ll have until we go to our eternal home, and Peter identified him for us in 1 Peter 5:8 as “the devil” or Satan. And when Peter identified the devil as our “enemy” or “adversary,” he indicated that we need to be aware of him by calling on us to “Be sober-minded” and “alert.” So, in this lesson, we’re going to examine what the Bible says about the devil so that we will “give [him] no opportunity” (Ephesians 4:27), we will “be able to stand against [his] schemes” (Ephesians 6:11), and we won’t be “devour[ed]" by him (1 Peter 5:8).
